Kolner Dom (Cologne Cathedral) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Construction began in 1248, but was not completed until 1880. It is the tallest Gothic church in Northern Europe. Kaiserdom zu Speyer (Imperial Cathedral of Speyer) is a major monument of Romanesque art in the German Empire. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was commissioned to be built in 1024 AD. Speyer |

The Romerbrucke's (Roman bridge) stone pilings date back to 144-152 AD making it the oldest bridge in Germany. Fascinating to see that it is still IN USE today. Trier |
